Paris Hilton Cocaine Arrest Follows Lindsay Lohan Release from Rehab

Paris Hilton is making headlines again, but not the kind she'd like to make. After being pulled over in Las Vegas, MTV.com is reporting that .8 grams of cocaine allegedly fell out of Paris Hilton's purse. She
is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. The socialite and hotel heiress, who rose to fame after a sex tape was released in 2003, was riding with boyfriend Cy Watts, a Wynn Resort nightclub boss. The police stopped Watts because of the strong smell of marijuana emanating from the car. Hilton is claiming the purse was previously held by a friend.

Hilton, 29, may be going in on the heels of fellow party girl Lindsay Lohan, 24, coming out of jail and rehab, according to ABC News. Despite having been sentenced to 90 days in jail to be followed by 90 days in drug rehabilitation, Lohan served only 13 days of the sentence and 22 days in rehab. She was sentenced after violating probation over a cocaine possession and drunk driving case in 2007.

While Lohan reportedly is "looking forward to beginning anew and having a productive life and schedule," according to her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, the Sun is reporting that, in the shadow of Hilton's arrest, Lohan has already gotten herself in trouble not one day out of rehab. Lohan was stopped by police for running a red light while en route to Chateau Marmont, a celebrity hangout. Early Sunday morning, she was let off with a warning.

Lohan must undergo random drug and alcohol tests twice a week and attend behavioral therapy classes. She hopes to be able to leave Los Angeles by November in order to work on a movie about porn star Linda Lovelace in Louisiana. The movie, "Inferno", is her attempt to reignite a flagging film career.

Hilton, Lohan, and other celebrities have been partying hard in Hollywood while former troubled stars have found the road to redemption. Robert Downey Jr., a former associate of the so-called "Brat Pack" in the 1980s, went through a series of arrests and personal problems from 1996 to 2003. Since then, he's gone on to turn in winning performances in "Iron Man," "Tropic Thunder" and "Sherlock Holmes."

(CBS) Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, says he wants to open an addiction rehabilitation center. This comes just days after Lindsay was released from a court-ordered rehab in Los Angeles.

According to Radar Online, the former stock broker, who served jail time for his trading activities, wants to build a place that uses tough love, especially for people using prescription drugs.

"I'm going to have a protocol that will be have to be followed. I don't believe in prescription drugs," he told the site. "If people come in on them they're going to have to get off of them, otherwise they'll be looking for another rehab."

God, apparently, will play a part.

"I believe spirituality and holistic methods can cure anything. God will be a major element in recovery," he told Radar.

Lindsay Lohan Wanted To Be Like Britney

LINDSAY LOHAN has given a post-prison interview to US magazine Vanity Fair, in which she admits that on arriving in Los Angeles she wanted to be like BRITNEY SPEARS. Both USA Today and the New York Post quote excerpts from the exclusive interview, which will be published in full in the magazine's October edition.

"I was irresponsible. And I'm not making excuses," said Lohan of her partying days, before adding, "I was experimenting. I was doing certain things that people do 10 times more of when they're in college." The star of Mean Girls also spoke of her earlier years inHollywood, admitting it was "really scary and sad ... I would look up to those girls ... the Britneys and whatever. And I would be like, I want to be like that."

In May 2010, Lohan missed a DUI progress hearing and instead attended the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL in France - she was subsequently ordered to wear an alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet. However, a month later the actress was deemed not to have complied with her requirement to attend regular alcohol classes - amongst other measures - and was given a 90 day prison sentence. She now admits that she lost structure in her life and blames the huge amount of money she was making for causing her misdemeanours, stating, "I had structure, and then I lost all the structure in my life. I think a lot of it was because when I was doing my first slew of movies, it was very go-go, and I had a lot of responsibility, and I think just the second I didn't have structure anymore - I was 18, 19 -- with a ton of money."

Can Lindsay Lohan's career be saved?

Six years ago, Lindsay Lohan was a redheaded ingenue, headlining a funkily twisted teen comedy written by embryonic supergenius Tina Fey. Lohan was already a Disney sweetheart, but Mean Girlsseemed to announce her arrival as a major teen megastar. Almost instantly, everything went sour: Within a year, Lohan had gone blonde, and was beginning a four-way tango with the paparazzi, the L.A. club scene, and the criminal justice system. (In a weird way, Mean Girlsanticipated all of this: her character goes from being a spunky outsider to a much-despised popular girl. So basically, Lindsay Lohan is to Mean Girls as Orson Welles is to Citizen Kane.) This summer, Lohan was released early from jail, and then rehab. In an interview from the new cover story of Vanity Fair, Lohan says, “I was irresponsible,” and compares her frantic last half-decade to living her college life in public. The question remains: Can Lindsay Lohan’s career ever really recover?

Short answer: yes, with an if. No career is ever really over. Mickey Rourke apparently spent 20 years living in a swamp, but he was propelled back into the mainstream by Robert Rodriguez, who gave the actor a redefining role in Sin City. Lohan is appearing in Rodriguez’s new filmMachete as a gun-toting nun, which makes more sense than Just My Luck 2. If Lohan can reinvent herself, then she might start filling theaters again.

Long answer: no, with a but. It’s almost impossible to imagine a director like Robert Altman wanting to work with Lohan again. Heck, it’s hard to even imagine that any marketing department would put Lohan in a movie preview. Lohan wasn’t just a tabloid fixture: she was also the star of the some of the worst movies ever made (one of which provided us with the best PopWatch post ever). As excited as I am for Machete, it’s weird to think that, at the age of 24, Lohan is already getting the kind of cult-fetish role that Rourke was getting in his 50s. It seems to announce the beginning of a meta-phase of her career. (Same goes for the rumored biopic about Linda Lovelace. Come on, people, they even have the same initials!) Not that there’s anything wrong with playing a tabloid-ish version of yourself, but in Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, and even Bobby, Lohan was playing real characters. She was an actress. In the interview, Lohan says that she wants to be an actress again, and “if that takes not going out to a club at night, then so be it.” Let’s hope she’s telling the truth.

What do you think, PopWatchers? Can Lindsay Lohan become a true movie star again? Is it weird that, as my colleagues Keith Staskiewicz and Emily Exton pointed out, every other actress in Mean Girls has a more viable career now than Lohan? (Okay, maybe not Lacey Chabert, but that’s a different PopWatch post.)

Lindsay Lohan: I Know I'm a 'Damn Good Actress'

Actress Lindsay Lohan says she is ready to give up clubs for her career.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair magazine, given a week before she entered jail, Lohan says she is looking to move on with her life and get back to work in Hollywood.

“I don’t care what anyone says. I know that I’m a damn good actress. … And I know that in my past I was young and irresponsible—but that’s what growing up is. You learn from your mistakes,” she said.

But she isn’t taking all the responsibility for her demise, taking time to call her father Michael Lohan out for most of the “trauma” in her life, saying she is not the addict that the world makes her out to be.

“If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, then putting a [scram] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room, because I would have had to come down from all the things that people say I’m taking and my father says I’m taking—so that says something, because I was fine.”

“I think my biggest focus for myself is learning how to continue to get through the trauma that my father has caused in my life,” she added. "The worst part of it is you turn around (in the courtroom) and you see your dad crying and normally you’d be, like, happy that your father’s there. But then he has to go and do an interview right after.”

Lohan added that she has not ever abused prescription drugs and said she has been open about the things she has done.

“I’ve admitted to the things that I’ve done—to, you know, dabbling in certain things and trying things ’cause I was young and curious and thought it was like, O.K., ’cause other people were doing it and other people put it in front of me. And I see what happened in my life because of it.”

Now, she tells Vanity Fair she is ready to move on with her life and get back to work as an actress.

“I don’t care what anyone says. I know that I’m a damn good actress. … And I know that in my past I was young and irresponsible—but that’s what growing up is. You learn from your mistakes,” she said.

The October issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands on Tuesday, September 7.

Lindsay Lohan "Nude the whole time" in Machete ?

Report: Lindsay Lohan 'Nude the Whole Time' in 'Machete'

Lindsay Lohan might play a woman of the cloth in the new Robert Rodriguez film Machete, but apparently she spends most of her time in the movie without a stitch on.

The movie doesn't hit the big screen until September 3, but a viewer who claims to have gotten an early peek at the new film tells Jezebel that Lohan—who plays a weapon-bearing nun named April—is au naturelduring the majority of her brief screen time. Says the tipster,

"I saw Machete. It's really well-executed exploitation… but Lindsay is barely in it. She's nude almost the whole time (except for the "nun with a gun" scene), and she has a videotaped ménage à trois with her mother (not Dina) and Danny Trejo in a pool. Her father pulls her out of a drug den type situation and confesses (to priest Cheech Marin) to lustful thoughts about his daughter. "I just wish she'd look at me as more of a man." I don't know if the small role was tailored to her… But. Yeah."

Should serve as a good warm-up for her next movie, Inferno, in which Lohan will play porn legend Linda Lovelace—and in which, according to reports, she gets very, very naked.

Of course, it's not like LiLo has been particularly shy about appearing in the buff for the cameras before—the still cameras, anyway...

Lindsay Lohan has new probation rules after rehab

Lindsay Lohan is a changed woman after her 13 days in jail and 23 days in a drug rehab program, her lawyer asserted Wednesday.

"She has learned her lesson," defense lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley told the judge at a Wednesday morning hearing.

Judge
Eldon Fox imposed a new set of rules the actress must follow over the next 67 days, but she can live in her West Hollywood, California, home instead of the rehab program at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

"She's very serious about her sobriety," Holley said. "She looks forward to proving to the court that she is taking this seriously."

The new Lindsay Lohan is not the same woman who painted her nails with expletives for her sentencing hearing last month, Holley told reporters after the hearing.

"She's healthy, she's clearheaded, she's positive and looking forward." Holley said.

Fox allowed her to check out of the hospital Tuesday night because the doctors reported the 90 days that had been ordered was too much, Holley said.

"The doctors very soon recognized that was completely unnecessary," she said.

Each week until November 1 will be filled with counselng sessions for alcohol and drug rehab, random drug tests, and behavorial therapy.

"She'll be in a lot of therapy," Holley said, but it will "allow her time to work, which is also positive for her."

Fox gave Lohan a long list of probation requirements, but if she follows them she should be freed from supervised probation in just over two months, the judge said.

Lohan can't leave California until November, so she can be available for random drug and alcohol tests at least twice a week, the judge ordered. She could go to jail for 30 days if she misses a test, he said.

She must attend psychotherapy sessions at least four times a week and 12-step chemical dependency classes five times a week, he ordered. Lohan must have at least seven contacts a week with her chemical dependency program, with at least two weekly sessions there.

She'll have to go to behavorial therapy two times a week, he said.

Her probation will be closely supervised until November 1, but after that it could be made unsupervised.

Lohan entered a court-ordered rehab program at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on August 2, following a 13-day stint in a Los Angeles County jail for a probation violation.

She was released from the rehab program Tuesday night by order of the judge.

Judge Marsha Revel, who ordered Lohan to spend 90 days in rehab, was replaced by Fox earlier this month.

Revel ordered the jail time and rehab after she ruled that Lohan violated her probation from a 2007 drunk driving case.

'Bad people' trying to 'snake their way back into Lindsay Lohan's life'

Now that Lindsay Lohan is out of rehab, the "bad people" are once again up to their old tricks, sources close to the actress say.

The same people who helped steer Lohan's life into a downward spiral smell new opportunities to take advantage and are desperately trying to "snake their way back into her life."

"They have been calling Lindsay non-stop ... and she's been talking to them," TMZ quoted one source as saying.

One source added, "It's scary ... they could take her off the right path."

Lindsay Lohan caught on camera post-rehab

Lindsay Lohan was released early from a 90-day stay in court-ordered rehab on Tuesday, and by Wednesday evening the Web was flooded with the first post-rehab glimpse of the 24-year-old star.

In the photo, Lohan is dressed head to toe in black, wearing headphones around her neck and also carrying a little something to sip on: a Rockstar energy drink.

Her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, said at a hearing Wednesday that Lohan has “learned her lesson.” The defense lawyer added, “She's healthy, she's clearheaded, she's positive and looking forward."

But while doctors did allow her to leave rehab ahead of schedule – Lohan was released after 23 days – the young star will need to attend weekly counseling sessions for drug and alcohol rehab as well as behavioral therapy until November 1. She'll also have to attend at least four psychotherapy sessions per week, according to the court's orders.

“She'll be in a lot of therapy," Holley said, but she added that this arrangement will "allow her time to work, which is also positive for her."

Lohan behold she's home

She left rehab 68 days early on Wednesday and has already been back winging on her Twitter page.

And, judging by her orange hue, she paid a visit to the tanning salon - her legs look like a pair of Wotsits.

The actress was banned from getting behind the wheel after her arrest for driving under the influence in 2007.

However, yesterday she visited the Department Of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in California to apply to get back on the road.

I give it a month before she's back on the LA club scene...

After her brief but brutal stint prison-rehab combo, LiLo returned to the land of social networking on Wednesday with a new subject: staying out of trouble while on the road.

People reports that one of the actress' suspended privileges during her jail time was the use of her Twitter account. But after 13 days in the slammer and 23 days in a UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Lohan was ready to rehab one group's bad habits -- in less than 140 characters.

"Clearly.. Paparazzi shouldn't be allowed to take pictures or video while someone's driving or at a stop light. 4every1's sake #trafficpolice," she wrote on her account.

An Access Hollywood report adds that Lohan just had her driver's license reinstated on Monday, but still needed her insurance documents. With proof of that on Wednesday, it was all about #drivingsafety from there.

Lindsay Lohan Downs Energy Drink First Day of Out Rehab

On Wednesday, Lindsay Lohan stepped out for the first time since leaving rehab.

In her hand as she walked through a Beverly Hills parking garage: ROCKSTAR, described on the company's website as "the world's most powerful energy drink."

PHOTOS: Lindsay Lohan and other stars' first modeling gigs

Should the 24-year-old actress -- now in UCLA's outpatient program and undergoing psychotherapy treatment -- be downing the beverage? Like all energy drinks, ROCKSTAR is loaded with caffeine (and sugar) which can make her jittery, cause insomnia and increase anxiety. (An 8.4-ounce energy drink serving contains 280 mg of caffeine, compared with about 100 mg per 6 ounces in coffee.)

"God bless her," actor Don Johnson told UsMagazine.com. "I care about her as a person."

Said actor Danny Trejo, "She's in control, she is professional, and she can really bring it. She is going to be all right.”
